Tree Nursery

It all starts here at our Tree Nursery in Braehead Community Garden.  Volunteers plant, grow and nurture a range of trees, getting them ready to be planted throughout our projects.

Working With Trustees

FUNDRAISING LEAD VOLUNTEER

  • · Organise small-scale fundraising through community activities, raising Treelink’s profile as well as funds.

  • · Talk to businesses about sponsorship benefits including possible volunteer opportunities for their workforce.

  • · Work with Treasurer and Trustees to ensure an ethical fundraising framework is established and maintained.

  • · We’d like an enthusiastic & outgoing person who can create and maintain positive community and business relationships, with an ability to influence and persuade, be creative and entrepreneurial while ensuring that funding is sourced from organisations aligned with Treelink’s values.

FREE TREES FOR BABIES ADMINISTRATOR

  • · Coordinating publicity, monitoring and replying to email queries

  • · Ordering trees, stakes, mulch mats etc

  • · Planning and delivering distribution days

  • · Liaison with sponsor company

  • · Strong planning, organisational & record-keeping skills

  • · Liaison with Communication lead for designing publicity materials; using networks to market the project widely.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

  • · As Treelink Stirling grows over the next year or two, we will need a Volunteer Coordinator.

  • · The post is likely to involve advertising for and recruitment of volunteers; assessing volunteer skills and training needs.

  • · We’ll need a confident & positive person, willing to learn and comfortable working with a team of volunteers.

  • · Able to find the right niche for prospective volunteers in line with their interests & Treelink’s organisational needs; able to liaise, mediate and problem-solve.

  • · If this may appeal to you, please let us know so we can keep in touch.

FINANCE & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS

  • If you are interested in TreeLink’s work but practical outdoor work is not for you at the moment, please let us know if you have other skills which you would be willing to share with us for a few hours a month.

  • At the moment Treasurer, Secretary, Communications and other important roles are carried out by Trustees, but if our organisation grows as we would like it to we will need others to help with these tasks.

  • Financial and administrative expertise underpins the smooth running of any organisation – please get in touch if your skills include these.

COMMUNITY LIAISON VOLUNTEERS

  • · Treelink Trustees are exploring ideas for community groups to become involved in growing trees from seed and looking after the young trees until they are ready for permanent planting.

  • · These plans are at an early stage of development, but it could be a fun and very interesting project for volunteers with an interest in community development / working with children and young people.

  • · Good organisational, communication and record-keeping skills will be needed as well as the ability to enthuse people and sell the idea. Volunteers might be asked to obtain a PVG check for this work.

  • · Please keep in touch if this is something you may be interested in.
