Himalayan Balsam Removal

Wednesday 1st and Wednesday 8th June
7-9pm at Old Harbour Woods,
Forthside, Stirling, FK8 1HZ.

Where to meet
Meet at the pillars at Shore Road at 7pm or you will find us working near the footpath if you join us later.  Please check in with event leaders wearing hi-vis jackets for a briefing before starting work.
What to bring
Gloves will be provided, but please bring your own own gardening gloves if you have a pair.  There are stinging nettles, so long-sleeved tops and trousers are recommended. 
To avoid the spread of balsam seeds we will be washing down footwear and equipment when we finish work.

Borrowmeadow Tree Care and Site Clean on Saturday 30th April from 2:00 until 5:00pm

TreeLink will be supporting volunteer session held at Borrowmeadow in the open land behind Forthbank Stadium. The site needs one final day of effort to remove the remaining tree guards from the trees that were planted about 10-11 years ago. We will then collect up all the guards and stakes for reuse or recycling. There will be no tree planting on this occasion.Volunteers meet outside the The Peak (FK81QZ) at 2:00pm.  Please were suitable clothes and footwear.  Tools and work gloves can be provided.  There are no toilet or refreshment facilities at Borrowmeadow  - but there are at the Peak.  There is no need to book but it helps if you let us know that you are coming by emailing treelinkstirling@outlook.com

Forthside Bing for shrub and tree planting on Saturday 12th March 10:00 – 1:00
After an induction on safe tool use, help us plant flowering trees and shrubs to add to the diverse habitat mosaic at this brownfield site which adjoins the site we are adopting at Old Harbour Woods.  Please wear suitable clothing and footwear.  We will provide protective gloves and tools, however if you have your own spade and gloves, please bring these along. There are no toilet or refreshment facilities on site.
This session is not appropriate for children under 12. Under 16 year olds to be closely supervised by parent/carer. Booking is not necessary, but it would be helpful if you email treelinkstirling@outlook.com or call 07926169765 to let us know that you plan to come.
